THE PROBLEM, PLAINLY

39%

of adolescent girls in rural India drop out of school before finishing class 10 — most often over distance, safety, or the cost of a cycle.

Everything a girl needs to stay in school and stand on her own — fees, cycles, uniforms, safe transport, menstrual health and dignity kits, and self-defence training. For young women past school, we run tailoring, computer and enterprise centres and seed self-help savings groups so income stays in her name.

ONE STORY — Meera, 14

ONE STORY

My father said the cycle was for me. Not for my brother. For me.

Meera, 14 · Bhilwara district

Seven kilometres each way. Ninety minutes on foot. She used to skip. The teal cycle arrived on a Saturday, with a bell. She rode in a dust circle for twenty minutes before she cried. She has not missed a school day since.
